David Williams

Two former Houston High School football coaches will have jobs with new programs next year.

David Williams, who coached the Tigers the past two seasons, will be the offensive coordinator at West Plains High School. He will work under Steve Ary, who previously coached at Mountain Grove.

Also on the move is Chris Edwards, who is leaving his position as offensive coordinator in Mountain Grove for a defensive coordinator position at Carthage High School. He will also teach social studies.

Edwards coached three seasons at HHS and had a combined 8-23 record. He led the Tigers to a 6-5 record and playoff berth in 2008.

Edwards’ wife, Sara, will teach math at nearby Webb City. She is a Houston High School graduate.

Houston was winless in Williams’ two seasons and has lost 20 straight games entering the 2012 season.
