Two members of the Houston High School track team and the girls’ 4×100 relay team qualified for Saturday’s sectionals with strong district performances.
Junior Kayla Herndon finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles at last weekend’s Class 2 District 6 meet at Fair Grove. She ran the event in 17.44 seconds.
Senior Taylor Korte ran the 200 meters in 27.74 to finish fourth and advance to sectionals.
Senior Lauren Hoover just missed qualifying by finishing fifth in 28.44 seconds in the 200.
The 4×100 relay team of Herndon, Korte, Hoover and Taylor Harrison finished third with a time of 54.30 seconds.
