The Houston High School choir earned 36 individual medals at Friday’s competition at the State Music Festival in Columbia.
Taylor Bryson, a freshman, received a “I” rating medal on his vocal solo.
Caiti Ross, Bailey Barton and Nathan Yaeger received “II” rating medals for their vocal solos. Elisa Williamson received a “II” rating medal for her piano solo. Dusti Turner, Caiti Ross, Reanna Craig, Elisa Williamson, Bailey Barton, Adrian Pena, Mariah Clifton, Ashlee Topping and Kathy Powell received “II” rating medals in two different vocal ensemble events. Jacob Kelley, Daniel Spurlin, Nathan Yaeger, Liz Harris, Kelli Albrecht, Racheal Forsythe, Kaylea Preheim, Dakota Hugenot, Emilee Reese, Haley Kelley, Katie Robertson, Caroline Dunn and Brandi Robbins received “II” rating medals in one vocal ensemble event.
In all, 23 students competed. The choir is under the direction of Beth Williamson.
