A Houston man was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon in a crash just west of his hometown on Highway 17.
Troopers said Billy R. Sikes, 56, was driving a 1997 GMC pickup that ran off the roadway, striking a fence and trees.
Sikes was taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital and airlifted to a Springfield hospital.
It’s the second accident in that neighborhood this week.
