Listener-supported community radio station KZGM in Cabool (KZ88) will celebrate its third year of operation with a birthday benefit “Party in the Park” at 1 p.m. Saturday at Roberts Park in Cabool.

“Everyone is invited to attend,” said Karen Montgomery of Cabool, a volunteer with the station. “Come and enjoy live music along with

barbecue chicken, veggie dogs, hot dogs and birthday cake. We are looking forward to seeing folks from all over our listening area.”

Several groups and artists will provide musical entertainment at the event, including Blisshappy, out of Rolla; the Renee Wood Jazz Trio, Hanson Heart (with Nathan Momper, of Mountain View), Forest Ogden of West Plains and others.

Community radio KZ88, 88.1FM, went on air April 15, 2009.

“We are indeed an all-volunteer, non-commercial, non-profit, listener supported community station,” said Kazie Perkins, of Willow Springs. “We hope with listener support to continue to cover all the great stuff happening in our neighborhoods for many years to come.”
