Lovern Harriette Goetz, 84, died Monday, May 21, 2012, at Texas County Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 20, 1927, at Garfield Park Hospital in Chicago, Ill., daughter of Harry and Corinne Corbeil Stevens. She and Theodore Goetz Jr. were married Sept. 13, 1947, at Our Lady Help of Christian Catholic Church in Chicago, Ill. He died in 2005.
She grew up in Chicago and graduated from a catholic school. She and her husband moved to the Beulah area on Feb. 1, 1968.
She worked for Brach’s in Chicago, Ill., and at Rawlings in Licking. She was mostly a stay-at-home mother.
She enjoyed painting, drawing, and watching the old science fiction movies. She loved cats and kept a dairy of every cat that lived with her. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Ethel Stevens Frost.
Survivors include three sons, Ted Goetz of Dryersburg, Tenn., Pat Goetz of Yuma, Ariz., and Bill Goetz of Houston; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday, May 25, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jackie Cooper officiating. Visitation is 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Cremation followed the service.
