A Licking man was killed Friday night in an accident west of his hometown.

A 26-year-old man with ties to the Houston area was killed Sunday afternoon in a crash in Franklin County, authorities said.

Christopher A. Harrah of Rolla was riding southbound in a 2011 Nissan Altima that failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the roadway, struck a driveway, became airborne and struck a tree.

Mr. Harrah was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, Autumn J. Smith, 25, of Rolla, had serious injuries and was flown to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur.

A passenger, Christopher L. Harrah, 5, had moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan.

Mr. Harrah is the grandson of Rick and Velma Harrah of Houston.
