Houston seventh-grader Tori McCloud throws the discus.

The Houston seventh-grade girls’ track team completed the season last Tuesday with a second-place finish at the South Central Association meet in Willow Springs.

The eight-grade girls and boys both finished fifth. The seventh-grade boys were seventh.

Abby Casper won the 100 meters, 400 meters and high jump for the seventh-girls. She also teamed up with Jaydin Ramsey, Tori McCloud and Destinee Ullom to win the 4×100 relay.

McCloud was second in the 75-meter hurdles and third in the discus. Ramsey finished second in the high jump and third in the 400. Ullom was second in the 200 and Emily Shea finished fourth.

Shelby Cremer had a pair of victories for the eighth-grade girls. She won both the long and triple jumps.

Caleb Adkison set a new eighth-grade boys’ record by running the 100 hurdles in 15.82. He missed the conference mark by 0.01 seconds. Keegan Spurlin was second in the discus and third in the shot put. Skylur Malam finished third in the high jump.

Trenton Best led the seventh-grade boys with a fifth-place finish in the 100 hurdles.
