Houston police handled several investigations in the last week. 

Houston police recently made multiple arrests involving drivers suspected under the influence of either alcohol or drugs. Others were apprehended with active warrants.

The following are matters recently dealt with by the Houston Police Department:

April 29

––A case involving a 16-year-old Bucyrus boy was referred to the county juvenile office after he was determined to have tampered with security cameras at Emmett Kelly Park in Houston.

May 24

––Kelly D. Williams, 33, of 209 E. Pine St. in Houston, was issued citations charging her with driving while intoxicated (drugs) and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway following a traffic stop at about 11:30 p.m. on Grand Avenue.

An officer observing the gold Buick Williams was driving moving erratically. The officer had been dispatched to Walmart moments earlier after a store representative had reported that a woman (Williams) had been seen there in an apparent state of intoxication. She was taken to the Texas County Jail, where a urine sample was taken and a Missouri State Highway Patrol officer conducted an advanced drug impairment test.

May 26

––Carl L. Gragg, 53, of 11096 Upton Road at Huggins, was issued citations on charges of driving while intoxicated and improper lane use following a traffic stop at about 7 p.m. on Walnut Street.

An officer made the stop after observing the black Toyota truck Gragg was driving backing down Spruce Street toward Walnut.

After making contact with Gragg, the officer smelled alcohol and field sobriety tests were conducted. Gragg was taken to the Texas County Jail and held for six hours.

May 29

––Kerry D. Brooks, 24, of 530 Florence St. in Houston, was arrested at his home at about 8:30 p.m. for having an active Texas County warrant for third-degree assault.

Brooks was taken to the Texas County Jail where he was unable to post $150,000 bond.
