The Houston school board made several hires and accepted two resignations during last Monday’s closed session.
Roger Boyd and Alice Boyd resigned as bus drivers. Roger Boyd was also a maintenance employee. Both resignations were approved with 6-0 votes.
According to minutes from the meeting, members approved the following hires:
––Darryl Betts, ISS coordinator, high school football assistant coach and middle school boys’ basketball assistant coach.
––Chris Maddox and Sandra Scurlock, paraprofessionals.
––Olivia Whitefield, elementary guidance counselor.
––Craig Hurst, high school English.
––Sylvia Lyons, high school Spanish.
All hires were affirmed with 6-0 votes. Board member Tadd McCloud was not present.
