Storms packing high winds are expected in the county, along with lightning.

The National Weather Service has put Texas County under a severe thunderstorm watch until 4 p.m.

Here is the report from the Springfield office:

 .NOW... THROUGH 11 AM...A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE ACROSS SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING FREQUENT LIGHTNING STRIKES...DIME TO NICKEL SIZED HAIL...WIND GUSTS TO 50 MPH AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN. SCATTERED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH ARE ALSO POSSIBLE. HOURLY RAINFALL RATES BETWEEN ONE-HALF AND ONE INCH INCH ARE EXPECTED.
