Emergency personnel responded Saturday, June 30, to a Highway 17 accident west of Houston.

Two teenagers were injured late Saturday morning in a single-vehicle accident about eight miles of Houston on Highway 17.

Cpl. Curtin Haden of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said Taylor M. Perry, 18, was driving a southbound 2005 Chevrolet pickup that ran off the roadway upon entering a curve. The truck re-entered the highway and the driver overcorrected, causing it to run off the right side of the roadway again and overturn, according to a report.

Perry, of Amarillo, Texas, and a passenger, Matthew C. Greathouse, 19, of St. Charles, were taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital, said Haden.

Both were wearing seat belts. The vehicle was totaled.
