Two persons were seriously injured Monday just south of Houston in a head-on crash, the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said a northbound 1999 Ford Crown Victoria driven by Florence J. Sartor, 80, of Mountain Grove, crossed the centerline in heavy rain and struck a southbound 1995 Jeep operated by Joanne H. Eastep, 53, of Cabool.Â
Both were taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital by ambulance. Sgt. George Falterman of the patrol said both were wearing seat belts. Each vehicle was totaled.Â
Authorities from several agencies responded late Monday morning to the crash at U.S. 63 and Durham Road south of Houston.
The collision sent the Texas County Rescue Squad, Houston Rural Fire Department, City of Houston police, Missouri State Highway Patrol and resources from Texas County Memorial Hospital to the scene.
Traffic backed up for some distance as emergency personnel worked the accident.Â
