A local church is hosting a free event Aug. 18 at Emmett Kelly Park.
Cornerstone Christian Church of Houston is presenting “Hot Summer Fun” beginning at 10 a.m. The day will include free food, games, a bounce house and special appearances.
Praise teams from Cornerstone and Undivided Hearts will sing during the day. The Collide Worship Band will also perform.
Juggling Jeff, a professional from St. Louis, will provide strolling comedic juggling performance that includes one-on-one interaction. Brandon Beck, a meteorologist from KY3, will speak in the afternoon.
That night, the professional drama “Defiant” will be performed as part of the weekly Undivided Hearts worship service. It begins at 7 p.m. at the corner of First and Chestnut streets.
