Donavon “Don” William Heithold, 82, died Friday, July 6, 2012, at his home in rural Licking.
He was born June 8, 1930, in Hoskins, Neb., son of Arthur Julius and Lillie Louise Harder Heithold. He and Margaret E. Jorgensen were married May 23, 1955.
He spent his entire life farming. He loved buying and selling livestock. He worked for Cedar County Road and Bridge Crew in Hartington, Neb. After relocating to Missouri, he worked at the George O. White Nursery, Rawlings Sporting Goods Factory and was a manager at MFA-Licking.
He served in the Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Stanley Heithold and Richard Heithold.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret of the home; five children, Donavon “Bill” Heithold Jr. of Alamogordo, N.M., Bryan Heithold of Nederland, Colo., Paul Heithold and Grant Heithold of Salem and Carol Fox of Licking; a special niece, Deborah Stark of Waterloo, Neb.; eight sisters, Ardath Puntney of Coleridge, Neb., Vivian Ash, Kathy Hodges and Janet Hughes of Springfield, Marian Stringfellow of Bolivar, Joann Dreesen of Fair Grove, Sharon Lumley of Elkland and Patricia Nadi of Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, Duane Heithold of Coleridge, Neb., and David Heithold of Elkland; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members.
Services were Tuesday, July 10, at Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Kettner officiating. Burial was in Concord Cemetery in Salem.
