The City of Houston announced voluntary water conservation measures on Monday.
City Administration Larry Sutton said the city is asking customers to restrict their water consumption. “We’re erring on the side of caution,” said Sutton when announcing the effort.
Odd-numbered addresses should water on odd-numbered days. For example, someone living at 521 Any Street would water on Monday, Wednesday and Friday this week. Even-numbered addressed would water on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The area has gone through a prolonged period of a lack of rain until recently. Several fires also have been reported in the region.
A high priority, Sutton said, is the drilling of a third well for the community.
