Houston police handled several investigations during the last week.

The following are matters dealt with last week by Houston police:

July 25

––Christina M. Villarreal, 23, of 17454 Highway B at Houston, was arrested for having two active Texas County warrants.

An officer made the arrest at about 6:30 p.m. at Villarreal’s residence while investigating her regarding another unrelated offense. A computer check revealed the warrants for driving without a valid license and no seat belt.

Villarreal was taken to the Texas County Jail where she was unable to post $215.50 bond.

––Kenneth A. Williford, 19, of 110 Sackett St. in Licking, was arrested for having active Houston municipal warrants for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernailia.

An officer made the arrest after coming into contact with Williford while investigating a reported domestic disturbance at a Highway 17 residence at about 10:50 p.m.

––A 38-year-old man from Tampa, Fla., faces charges after reportedly failing to pay for more than 35 gallons of diesel fuel he pumped into his tractor-trailer rig at a South Sam Houston Blvd. gas station.

After leaving the business, the man was followed by a Missouri Department of Conservation agent on South U.S. 63, before being pulled over in Cabool by police. A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper then escorted the suspect back to the gas station in Houston, where he was met by an HPD officer.

The man was of Hispanic descent and spoke little English, so an investigating officer used the serves of former Houston High School Spanish teacher who acted as an interpreter during an interview at the HPD office. He will reportedly be charged with stealing under $500.

July 26

––Rachel M. Smith, 31, of 9178 Splitlimb Road at Raymondville, was issued a citation for driving with a suspended license.

An officer cited Smith at about 10 p.m. after a highway patrol trooper had requested that the officer watch for a green mini van near Florence Street. The officer saw the van traveling on Oak Hill Drive and initiated a traffic stop.

July 28

––Teasha R. Clark, 21, of 1205 Cedar St. at Cabool, was arrested for having an active Mountain Grove warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of shoplifting.

An officer made the arrest after observing a silver Oldsmobile Alero traveling at a high rate of speed at about 3 a.m. on Pine Street and then finding out about the warrant when doing a computer check on the vehicle. Clark was later located at a residence in Houston, after officers received a tip on her whereabouts.

––Shannon L. Cross, 29, of 719 Augusta St., Apt. A, in Houston, was arrested for having an active Texas County warrant for driving while intoxicated, driving while revoked and careless and imprudent driving. An officer who was aware of the warrant made the arrest at about 7:45 p.m. after observing Cross walking along Augusta Street.

He was taken to the Texas County Jail where he was unable to post $10,000 bond.
