Kennith Lee Jones, 62, died Monday, July 2, 2012, at his home in Houston.

He was born May 12, 1950, in Kansas City, Kan., son of Bob and Ruthene Brackett Jones.

He received Christ as a teenager and was faithful throughout the years.

He attended schools in Kansas City, Summersville and Houston. He shortly after joined the Army and was stationed with the military police in Augsburg, Germany.

He lived in Kansas and later the Decatur, Texas, area. He was a self-operated truck driver, hauling extra wide extra heavy equipment. He also owned and operated rock hauling trucks.

He enjoyed telling jokes, making people laugh and cooking.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include a son, Kennith Allen Jones of Wichita Falls, Texas; a daughter, Shellie Ogden of Licking; a brother, Robert Leon Jones of Decatur, Texas; a sister, Joyce Jones of Houston; six grandchildren; and numerous other family members.

Memorial services were Saturday, July 7, in Emery Cemetery with Pastor Bill Villapiano officiating. Services were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
