County authorities say they investigated a report of a woman's assault and a baby dropped.

A Licking man faces multiple charges after allegations of assaulting a woman and dropping an infant at his residence.

Justin D. Strunk, 34, of 12597 Mills Road at Licking, was issued citations for second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and third-degree domestic assault following the 9 p.m. July 24 incident in which he reportedly hit a 25-year-old woman with a broom handle and dropped a baby to the ground.

A relative of the woman told investigating officers that she received a telephone call for help. She stated that when she arrived at the home, she witnessed Strunk drop a 1-year-old girl to the ground after holding her at about waist height.

An officer spoke to a 12-year-old girl, who reportedly said she had seen the broom stick assault. The officer also observed injuries to the woman’s jaw and arm.

When officers arrived at the scene, Strunk reportedly charged the patrol vehicle, and was subsequently ordered to immediately hit the ground and then handcuffed. He was taken to the Texas County Jail.
