Lonnie Ramsey

Lonnie Ray Ramsey, 64, of Houston, died Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

He was born Jan. 7, 1948, in Bucyrus, son of Ted and Mable McKee Ramsey. He and Linda Parker were married July 21, 1966.

He graduated from Houston High School in 1966. He worked in timber and sawmills all his life. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing.

He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Johnny Dale and Jimmy Junior.

Survivors include his wife, Linda of the home; three daughters, Brenda Denise Ramsey of Houston, Freda Marie Richardson of Louisville, Ky., and Rhonda Joanne Ramsey of Houston; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Ramsey of Houston and Dannie Ramsey of Licking; two sisters, Connie Beasley of Raymondville and Judy Ramsey of West Plains; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Services are 10 a.m. Thursday, July 12, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
