A 29-year-old Mountain Grove man faces multiple charges for his role in an alleged hit-and-run incident at his 33-year-old former girlfriend’s Castleberry Road residence at Cabool, authorities said.
According to a Texas County Sheriff’s Department report, the suspect arrived at the woman’s home on the evening of July 20 and was driving aggressively back and forth and yelling for her to come out to the road. The woman and her 50-year-old husband drove to where the suspect was, and the woman got out of the car to speak to him.
At that point, the suspect reportedly “peeled out,” causing his vehicle to fishtail and strike the woman, knocking her to the ground. The suspect then drove away. According to a report, she sustained bruises.
The woman’s husband told an investigating officer that the suspect had come to the location to fight his wife’s brother. Cabool police stated that reports of the suspect driving fast on other nearby roads had been received just before the incident.
The officer located the suspect and placed him under arrest for second-degree assault and first-degree trespassing. A report was sent to the county prosecutor seeking charges.
