Military veteran

Michael Murray Kozemczak, 64, was born Oct. 27, 1947, in St. Louis, Mo. He was the fourth of five children born to Mike and Wilma (Murray) Kozemczak.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother.

Michael is survived by his wife, Johna of Houston, Mo.; sons, Matt Kozemczak and wife, Ramona, of Nixa, Mo., Clint Kozemczak and wife, Kim, of Los Angeles, Calif., Michael Kozemczak of Springfield, Mo., and Chris Ely and wife, Staci, of Houston, Mo.; daughter, Tamma Floyd and husband, Steve, of Houston, Mo.; brothers, Jim and Kevin Kozemczak of St. Louis, Mo.; and sisters, Rosalee Baker of Houston, Mo., and Joan McCann of Imperial, Mo.

Michael served in the United States Air Force from Oct. 21, 1966, to July 21, 1970, as an Aircraft electrician. He was in the Vietnam War and attained the rank of Sergeant.

Some of his fondest memories were time spent as a Boy Scout Leader, Little League coach, walking in the woods, hunting and fishing and good times spent with family. He was a good hearted, generous, sweet and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

He was a member of the Church of Christ Temple Lot in Houston and now rests with the Lord. We will miss him.

Services were 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2012, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with David Keeney officiating. Pallbearers were Matt Kozemczak, Michael Kozemczak, Seth Kozemczak, Steve Floyd, Chris Ely and Don Baker. Burial with full military honors was 1 p.m. in the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery, Ft. Wood, Mo.
