Investigations sent deputies throughout the county during the last week.

The following are other matters dealt with last week by sheriff’s department officers:

July 23

––A 40-year-old Hartshorn man reported three guns with a total value of $1,150 had been stolen from his Hardwood Drive residence.

July 24

––A 60-year-old Hartshorn woman reported that a 33-year-old woman and 30-year-old man who live at her Dewitt Drive residence had stolen numerous items with a total value of $2,655.

Swiped goods reportedly included cattle, hay bales, farm equipment, jewelry and gold coins.

A Houston woman reported at about 9:30 a.m. that a male relative was suicidal. The man told an investigating officer that he wasn’t suicidal.

July 25

––A 48-year-old Bucyrus woman reported that her Highway 17 residence had been broken into on several occasions while she was away. The woman stated that nothing had been stolen, but that her bathtub and toilet showed signs of use.

July 26

––A 59-year-old Cabool man reported that someone had shot and killed his dog and dumped a wooden bench at his Bado Road residence. There are no suspects.

––A Houston woman reported that her 26-year-old son was trespassing on her Forrest Drive property and she didn’t want him there.

An officer informed the woman that in order for charges to be filed, she would first have to evict her son.

––Marcus Chamberlain, 38, of 15122 Highway AW at Plato, was issued a citation for third-degree domestic assault after an incident involving his 30-year-old girlfriend at about 7 a.m. at their shared residence.

July 27

––A 79-year-old Roby man reported that someone had picked all the peaches and apples from his private Highway 17 orchard. The man’s wife told an investigating officer that the same thing had occurred at about the same time last year.

––An 84-year-old Houston man came to the TCSD office to report physical abuse done to him by his wife at their residence.

The man stated that he didn’t want to file charges, but feared she might try to kill him and wanted to know what his rights were to protect his life.

––A 31-year-old Willow Springs man reported that his Arroll Road cabin had been broken into and two TVs with a total value of $700 had been stolen, along with an unreported number of bottles of alcoholic beverages. A door had sustained $150 worth of damage.

The man told an investigating officer that the break-in might have been related to several outdoor parties that have recently occurred nearby.

July 28

––Deputies were dispatched several times to a Northview Lane trailer court at Houston regarding a report of a prowler who was outside a trailer and then inside it.

Officers found no sign of a suspect, and the people who called in the reports denied them entry into their trailer. An officer stated the residents had probably mistaken trees for suspects.

––Coreina M.S. Brown, 20, of 18097 W. Highway 32 at Licking, was arrested and issued a citation for third-degree domestic assault after reportedly punching a 22-year-old Summersville man in the face at his Scenic Road residence.

The man reportedly held a knife to his own throat and then threatened to kill himself after being assaulted, but his stepfather was able to take it away.

He and Brown were both taken to the Texas County Jail.

––A 66-year-old Houston man reported that numerous items had been stolen from his Highway B property.

The man stated that things have been disappearing for several months.

Among the items reported swiped were vehicle parts, boat motors, a pickup truck frame and lawn mowers. The total value of the goods was reportedly $19,087.
