A Houston woman was selected Tuesday by the Texas County Democratic Central Committee as its candidate for county public administrator.
Lisa Dixon of Houston will seek the post in the November General Election.
The process began after Texas County Public Administrator Theresa Campbell announced recently that she won’t seek re-election to the post this fall due to health reasons. Campbell had been elected earlier by voters in the Democratic Primary.
Campbell said she recently was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.
The Republican nominee for the office is Connie Thompson of Cabool.
