Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon will visit today (Wednesday) in Texas County to monitor a well drilling program available to farmers.
Nixon will visit Sheppard Dairy Farm near Highways M and 38 at about 9:30 a.m.
The governor is expected to provide an update on the program, which has approved nearly 5,900 contracts to provide access to water for livestock producers and farmers in Missouri by digging or deepening wells, extending piping or other practices.
Nixon will be in the area for a significant jobs announcement Wednesday at Lebanon.
