John Lee Cross, 76, died Monday, July 30, 2012, at his home in Summersville.
He was born Nov. 30, 1935, in Eunice, son of Arthur Lee and Rosetta Kinserlow Cross. He married Carolyn Jane Goodwin.
He loved to hunt, fish and garden. He enjoyed the outdoors and was often found outside tinkering on projects.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, Udale Cross, Leatha Dean, Eugene Cross, Carl Cross and Gladys Cobble.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Smith of Mexico, Mo.; a brother, Edward Cross of Rolla; his wife, Carolyn Jane Cross of Summersville; six children, Connie Sheppard of Maryland Heights, Tammy Stringer of Summersville, John Cross of Poplar Bluff, Daniel Cross of Cedar Hill, Jeff Cross of Fort Mitchell, Alab., and Billy Goodwin of West Plains; 29 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were Saturday, Aug. 4, at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Steelman officiating. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery.
