A Licking woman faces numerous charges for her alleged involvement in the attempted theft of several items from a Licking man’s Highway 137 property.
The man contacted the Texas County Sheriff’s Department Aug. 3 regarding property damage, and told an investigating deputy that he had seen a pickup parked near a gate on his property. The officer went to the location and made contact with its driver, who claimed she was there due to vehicle trouble.
The officer later determined that she was in possession of suspicious tools and had tried to steal items, including wiring from a boat trailer. The suspect had reportedly traveled through three normally secured gates to reach a barn where the man kept a boat and many farm tools.
Texas County Prosecuting Attorney Michael Anderson filed charges Friday against Tammy A. Giller, 40, of 16665 Highway N at Licking, including felonies of stealing more than $500 but less than $25,000, stealing wire, possession of burglar’s tools, first-degree property damage and second-degree burglary, and misdemeanor first-degree trespassing. Giller was taken to the Texas County Jail and held on $250,000 bond.
She was charged with misdemeanor theft in June for her alleged involvement in an April 30 incident.
