Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., will discuss farm policy Tuesday, Aug. 14,  in Houston.

U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill will visit in Houston today  to discuss agriculture policy.

McCaskill will talk at about 11:45 a.m. to highlight issues related to the drought, a Farm Bill that is stalled in Congress and other matters. McCaskill says her opponent, Rep. Todd Akin, R-St. Louis, has opposed the last three farm bills voted on in Congress. She also is expected to highlight her support to further study rural post office closings and the development of broadband service in rural areas.

The public is invited to join her at the Houston Rural Fire Association meeting room.

These stops are part of the second day on McCaskill’s six-day statewide “Fighting for Our Farmers” Barnstorm that will take her to rural communities in all four corners of the Missouri.
