Thunderstorms packing high winds and rain were reported in some portions of the county Saturday night.
The National Weather Service said it had some reports of wind damage around the Houston area. Power was temporarily disrupted in some areas in the region, too.
The storm struck on the final night of the Texas County Fair-Old Settlers Reunion, where events included a demolition derby and livestock sale.Â
The rain brought much-needed relief to an area that has not received much precipitation. Streams have slowed to a trickle, and some ponds are dry. Grass has turned brown.
