A dangerous storm moved through Texas County on Friday night.

A storm packing high winds, rain and lightning struck Friday night in Texas County. 

At Houston, where a high school football game was planned, gates were closed and anyone at Tiger Stadium was moved to the Big Red Building. The game was delayed until about 7:35 p.m. 

The National Weather Service warned of a tornado and issued a warning for northwest Texas County until 6:30 p.m.  None was reported, but there were reports of trees down. The storm shelter in Houston opened.

Southern Missouri remains under a severe thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m., the National Weather Service said. 

A traffic alert: A tree is reported down across Highway M at Huggins.
