Del Todd Hammon, 49, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2012.

He was born June 15, 1963, in Denver, Colo., son of Norville Thomas and Ina June Bailey Hammon.

He was raised in the Eunice and Raymondville area. He attended grade school at Raymondville School and graduated in 1983 from Houston High School.

He worked in the area at various jobs before leaving in 1984 to work in Alaska. He worked as a cook on the boats in Prudoe Bay area. He then moved back to Springfield, were he lived until his passing.

He loved to cook for his family and friends. He enjoyed blue grass music. He loved family reunions, especially the Pine Flat reunions. He enjoyed being with his family and visiting with the many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Marvin Leroy Hammon.

Survivors include five siblings, Carl Eugene Hammon of Ozark, Paul Dean Hammon of Licking, Gloria Annette Elvers of Elkader, Iowa, Carol Sue Smith of Broomfield, Colo., and Joan Ayres of Summersville; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Memorial services are 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, in Union Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Harold Smith officiating. Services were under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home.
