Homecoming activities continue Sunday with a fish fry and musical event.

The Houston Lions Club will sponsor a fish fry from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the community building at the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce Fairgrounds on North U.S. 63.

A musical gala to benefit the Paul Ice Memorial Scholarship runs from 2-4 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Houston. Donations will be accepted at the door.

Earlier: A sea of red and black is expected for homecoming as Houston High School and the Houston Alumni Association plan activities  Saturday.

The HHS Friday afternoon parade was canceled due to inclement weather. A pep rally was held end of the day, as planned.

Several displays appear in merchants’ windows. Some classes are holding class reunions.

Homecoming queen coronation was Friday night.  You can watch it at houstonherald.com/live.

A mixer for alumni was Saturday afternoon at Hiett Gymnasium. A short program began at 3. There was alumni association updates, scholarship reports and classes graduating in years ending in “2” and “7” were honored.

Several classes also held reunions over the weekend.
