Freida Jane Bever, 88, daughter of Luther and Grace (Wilson) Hutsell, was born Feb. 16, 1924 in Astoria, Mo. She passed away Sept. 22, 2012, at her home in Bucyrus, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, who passed away in May 2012; her parents; and brother, William (Bill) David Hutsell.
Freida married Joseph Bever on May 20, 1944, in Morganfield, Ky. She attended grade school at Plum Valley and graduated from Houston High School, Houston, Mo. Throughout her life, she worked at Fort Leonard Wood, International Shoe, Lee Company and Brown Shoe.
Freida is survived by a son, Ronald Bever and wife, Doris, of Saint Charles, Mo.; two daughters, Rita Blair and husband, Jerry, of O’Fallon, Mo., and Mary Ann McCallister of Bucyrus, Mo.; three grandchildren, Melissa Blair, Jerry Blair Jr. and Christi Gabel; three great-grandchildren, Joey Heppermann, Kelly Gabel and Grace Gabel; two great-great-grandchildren, Adam and Alyssa Heppermann; and one brother, Robert Hutsell of Paris, TX.
She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, gardening, crocheting and her Bunco Club. Freida will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Services were 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at Evans Funeral Home with Wesley Wallace officiating. Pallbearers were Jerry Blair, Joey Hepperman, Kelly Gabel, Rick Sandefer, Don Dunavin and Sonny Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Garold McCoy and Lester Smith. Burial was in Dykes Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
