Louis Welcome Berger, 93, of Licking, , passed away Aug. 31, 2012, in the Licking Park Manor. He was born Dec. 18, 1918, in Bremen, Ind., to Ernest and Ada (Kipfer) Berger.
Louis graduated from Elkhart Indiana High School with the class of 1936. He was an active member of the High School Band.
He married Mary Robbins on Aug. 27, 1939. They just celebrated their 73rd anniversary.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jane Kiefer.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Katherine Berger of Licking, Mo.; a daughter, Nancy Roth and husband, Jim, of Houston, Mo.; a son, Robert Berger and wife, Alice, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Louis loved to do woodworking, stamp collecting and had quite a collection of basketball and baseball cards that he passed on to his grandson.
Louis will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
