Walkers gather last year at the Houston Senior Center for a walk to fight against hunger. More than 100 participated.

Walkers from all areas of Texas County are invited to show their support Sept. 30 during Hunger Relief month by participating in the 20th annual Hunger Walk.

Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. and the event begins at 2 p.m. at the Houston Senior Center on Grand Avenue in downtown Houston. Pledge envelopes can be picked up in Houston at the Texas County Food Pantry or in Licking at the United Community Help Center.

All Hunger Walk donations stay in Texas County and are split between the food pantries in Houston and Licking, who together assist families and individuals all over the county. Checks should be made payable to CFO (Community Foundation of the Ozarks) and can be mailed to event organizer Alice Wells at 805 Hawthorn, Houston, Mo., 65483.
