Delpha Irene Lee Tune, 92, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, in Mountain View.
She was born March 28, 1920, in Mill Springs, daughter of Larence Lenro and Annie Caroline McMullen Lee. She and William Edd Tune were married in 1937.
She and her husband owned and operated Tune’s Café in Summersville for many years. After they sold the café, she worked in many area restaurants.
She previously worked at the Sycamore Hospital in Sycamore, Ill., and Angelica Uniform Factory in Summersville. She used her sewing skills to make pillow dolls for her grandchildren and many area children who needed dolls.
She also enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She loved making pies.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; two brothers, Burnis Lee and Eugene Lee; four sisters, Geneva Young, Wilma Haffner, Ilene Stover and Ellene Burkhart; three infant sisters; and two grandchildren.
Survivors include six children, Shirley Hensley of Lewisburg, Tenn., Bill Edd Tune of Summersville, Mildred Ilene Barnhart of Rock Springs, Texas, Melvin Tune of Yukon, Lenro Tune of Willow Springs and Nadine Boyle of Fraise, Minn.; a brother, Lindle Lee; a sister, Elmo Louie Lee; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and host of other family members and friends.
Services were Monday, Oct. 15, at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Emmett Bradford officiating. Burial was in Oakside Cemetery.
