The Houston High School volleyball team snapped a five-match losing skid with a 25-11, 25-17 victory Tuesday against Thayer inside Hiett Gymnasium.
Senior Alexa Ichord had nine kills and nine assists for the Lady Tigers (12-19, 4-1 South Central Association). Amber Sillyman handed out a team-best 15 assists. Desiree Venable had five of the team’s 11 aces.
Sophomore Kylee Elmore had six kills Monday in the Lady Tigers’ 25-18, 25-15 home loss to Winona.
On Saturday, Houston lost to Eminence, Willow Springs, Mountain Grove and Willard at the Licking Tournament.
JUNIOR VARSITY: Hayley Walker and Sarah Kelley had four kills apiece in the JV Lady Tigers’ 25-12, 25-18 victory Tuesday against Thayer.
Freshman Camryn Scheets had 18 assists in the JV’s 25-17, 17-25, 25-18 loss Monday to Winona.
