The Village of Raymondville was one of six communities and one county in Missouri awarded facility grants last week.
The community received $49,970 to fund an early storm warning system for the 442 residents of Raymondville.
Caruthersville, East Prairie, Greenfield, Hayti and Lilbourn also received grants alongside Carter County.
“These grants will enable communities to improve the quality of life for residents and visitors,” Anita J. Dunning, rural development state director, said. “With the funds, the communities can provide better communications, advanced public warnings, greater public safety and quicker clean-up when disasters strike.”
