Renovation and the current construction project were discussed during a meeting of the TCMH board of trustees last week.

Texas County Memorial Hospital is one of six organizations receiving funding from the Missouri Department of Economic Development.

The hospital will receive $298,400 to construct a community events facility that will also be built to Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) standards for storm shelters.

Projects in Madison County, Maitland, Potosi, Pulaski County and St. Clair County also received funding. The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program totaled nearly $1.4 million.

The CDBG program provides grants and loan funds to cities with a population under 50,000 and counties under 200,000 to assist in a variety of public works and economic development projects.
