After two relatives who live outside Texas County each called to request a check on his well being, a Houston man now faces drug-related charges.
Dustin R. Odom, 27, of 115 North King Street, was issued citations by the Houston Police Department on Oct. 12 for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Odom was cited after officers were dispatched to his residence after separate calls were received from his father, a Branson resident, and aunt, who lives in Colorado, had each called to request a check on his well being.
When officers arrived, they observed burns on Odom’s body and were told by his wife that he had sustained the injuries while filling a kerosene heater. During the investigation, marijuana and smoking apparatus were found and were seized as evidence.
Odom was taken by ambulance for treatment at Texas County Memorial Hospital.
