A woman spotted at a Houston beauty pageant was arrested Saturday as she left the event, authorities said.
Erica D. Bettes, 36, of 11804 Highway 32 at Roby, was arrested on a Texas County warrant on charges of hindering the prosecution of a felony.
An officer apprehended Bettes as she went to her truck following the annual Miss Texas County Scholarship Pageant at the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce Fairgrounds. She was taken to the Texas County Jail.
Authorities said Bettes is known to them. In 2007, she was among three women arrested and charged with aiding fugitive Neldon Neal during a 62-day manhunt in northwest Texas County. Neal was captured and later convicted of fatally shooting his wife at Roby.
