Barbara Ellen McVay Shanks, 54, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Barnes Jewish Hospital.
She was born Sept. 28, 1958, in Houston, daughter of Gale and Margaret McVay.
She lived in Licking the majority of her adult life.
She enjoyed sewing, embroidering, family get-togethers and barbeques. She loved spending time with her granddaughters, Brooke and Ashlyn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and former husband, Joe Creech.
Survivors include a son, Justin Creech; two granddaughters; a sister, Patti Dawson; a brother, Bill McVay; her husband, Charles Shanks; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were Saturday, Nov. 24, at Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Miller officiating.
