Charles “Chucky” Leroy Bates, 54, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, in Elmhurst, Ill.
He was born March 9, 1958, in Chicago, Ill., son of Charles Leroy Sr. and Shirley Ann Quinn Bates. He and Anne Robles were married Nov. 24, 1987, in Missouri.
He made his home in Elmhurst, Ill., where he was an executive customer service representative with a cable company for several years.
He and his wife, Anne, loved to travel before he became ill. He enjoyed computers, computer games and chess. He had three special dogs, Gizzy, Morgan and Sasha.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles, on June 28, 1988; and his mother, Shirley, on Feb. 17, 2011.
Survivors include his wife, Anne of Elmhurst, Ill.; a brother, Robert Bates of Melrose Park, Ill.; a sister, Theresa Bates of Elmhurst, Ill.; and a host of family and friends.
Services are 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bill Walker officiating. Visitation is 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Ellis Prairie Cemetery.
