John B. Frakes, 79, of Joplin, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at home following months of ill health.
He was born Dec. 31, 1932, in Woolstock, Iowa. He and Cathleen Curtis were married Aug. 24, 1954, in Webster City, Iowa.
He was a minister for more than 45 years, including the First Christian Church in Houston. He also led churches in Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma and Illinois.
Survivors include his wife, Cathleen; a son, David Frakes of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Julie Woolever of Joplin; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Ilo of Webster City, Iowa; and a sister, Eudora of Minneapolis, Minn.
Services were Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Park Plaza Christian Church in Joplin. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Webb City. Arrangements were under the direction of Clark Funeral Home of Neosho.
