Mountain Grove swept the Houston Middle School girls’ basketball teams Thursday night.
The seventh grade lost 14-9 and the eighth grade was defeated 30-23.
Savanna Rowland had four points for the seventh grade, which was outscored 10-5 in the second half. Carly Crawford had three points.
“We played pretty good man-to-man defense,” Lady Tigers coach John Jordan said. “We just had a hard time scoring.”
Jaydin Ramsey led the eighth grade with seven points. Abby Casper and Jaycee Huff added six points each.
Houston trailed 11-10 at the half before being outscored 10-3 in the third quarter.
“In our losses this year, we haven’t been able to take care of the basketball,” Jordan said. “We continually turn the ball over, which results in easy baskets for our opponents and one less opportunity for us to score.”
