Ronald “Ron” W. Wilson, 72, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at his home in Houston.

He was born Oct. 20, 1940, in Kirksville, son of Albert Wilson and Maebelle McDaniels Schutz. He and Doris Walker were married March 2, 1985.

He was a member of Souls Harbor Family Worship in Houston. He received Christ as his Savior in 2006.

He enlisted in the Navy during the Vietnam War from 1957-’61. He was later a firefighter, law enforcement officer, EMT, PEMT instructor, home builder, bull rider and gardener.

He loved reading stories to his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Timothy Wilson.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Doris of the home in Houston; five sons, Ronald Wilson Jr. of Pekin, Ill., Greg Wilson and Ronald Eric Wilson of Virginia, Michael Ingalls of California and Brian Wilson of Mountain View; two daughters, Angela Slater of Virginia and Shannon Fugate of California; 21 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Souls Harbor Family Worship with Pastor Cordie Wimberley officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
