Filings open today — Tuesday, Dec. 11 — for positions in Houston city government and the Houston board of education.
The terms of Mayor Don Tottingham and council members Sharon Sillyman, Ward I; Chalky Wells, Ward II; and David Arthur, Ward III, expire.
Two terms will be filled for slots on the Houston board of education. They are: Sharon Horbyk and Doug Castleman.
The election is April 2.
Filings close Jan. 15.
