Mary Katherine Berger

Mary Katherine (Robbins) Berger, 93, daughter of Homer and Ethel (Blinn) Robbins, was born Feb. 16, 1919, in Crown Point, Ind. She passed away Dec. 20, 2012, at Texas County Memorial Hospital, Houston, Mo.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Louis W. Berger.

She is survived by one son, Robert (Alice) Berger of Fort Wayne, Ind.; one daughter, Nancy (James) Roth of Houston, Mo.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol (Jonathan) Moyer of Pompano Beach, Fla.; and four nephews.

Mary grew up in Elkhart, Ind., and graduated from Elkhart High School in 1937. She and Louis W. Berger of Elkhart were married on Aug. 27, 1939, and celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary four days before his death Aug. 31, 2012.

She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, counted cross-stitch and keeping up with some of the news on her computer. She had resided at Licking Residential Care and always had a smile and greeting for the staff and other residents.

She will be missed, but she is back by Louie’s side where she wanted to be.

No services are planned at this time. Cremation was under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
