The Houston Police Department reports that another counterfeit $20 bill was discovered last week at a Houston business.

According to a written report, a representative of Walmart contacted police Jan. 5 saying that a bank worker had found a fake 20 in the store’s deposit.

Authorities said the serial number on the counterfeit bill matches the number on three of the 11 phony 20s recently recovered after being passed at a Houston convenience store.

Investigation of the matter is ongoing.

In other police business, Michael A. Hebert, 34, of 15104 Hazelton Drive at Licking, was issued a citation Jan. 4 for stealing under $500 after being caught attempting to shoplift several items from the Houston Walmart at about 2:30 p.m., according to a report.

A Houston man was arrested Jan. 5 for having an active Texas County warrant for stealing a motor vehicle. An officer who was aware of the warrant arrested Joshua A. Laster, 20, of 725 W. Highway 17, after making contact with him at a Bryan Street residence.

Laster was taken to the Texas County Jail where he was unable to post $150,000 bond.
