A pastor who has initiated a statewide movement to hold crosses in Jesus’ name on Good Friday will speak Saturday night in Houston.

David Craig, pastor of Life Church in Sikeston, will be the guest speaker at 7 p.m. during Undivided Hearts’ weekly worship service. He will share the heart of his ministry, “Carry the Cross.”

Craig’s mission is to mobilize thousands of Christians to physically hold 10-foot crosses along Missouri highways from 7-11 a.m. March 29. Last year, hundreds across the state participated in the exercise that Craig said was initially introduced to him in 1990 as a witnessing tool.

“In 2011, I realized God wanted me to get other people involved. He wanted others to have the same blessing I had,” said Craig, who built a trailer and travels across the state sharing his vision and passing out crosses.

Last year, more than 50 Christians from multiple denominations held 22 crosses that stretched from one city limits sign to the other in Houston. Plans are underway to participate again this year.

“Everybody that carries the cross is changed,” Craig said. “Why? Jesus Christ changes them.”

Undivided Hearts is located at First and Chestnut streets in Houston. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The service is also streamed live over the Internet at www.undividedhearts.tv.
